We are pleased to welcome Texas and Oregon to YDR. The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA) and the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act (OPCA) took effect on July 1st, 2024, and were immediately available on the platform.
Residents of the two states can now submit data deletion and access requests via the website. They can also escalate requests to the respective Attorney General when companies fail to comply with a request. Our smart follow-up assistance option provides guidance in such cases. Try it now!
Texas and Oregon are the 6th and 7th US states to join the data protection club. Seven additional states have enacted similarly strong data protection laws, which will come into effect over the next two years (IAPP provides a US privacy legislation tracker).
We will keep on adding these new regulations as they take effect.
